We have four tracks for UN//SCENE festival: UN//SEEN, UN//SPOKEN, UN//SOLVED and UN//APOLOGETIC. See below to help guide the track you’d like to apply for.
We are hosting a range of formats for your submissions – we want to provide space for a wide breadth of voices, with time for depth of discussion and investigation. We want the best ideas in most impactful formats.
The ‘speaker’ format slots will include:
‘‘Dinner party’ style sharing circles: 5 min speaking slots, followed by a group discussion
Debates: Resolution-seeking, mediated motions
Workshops: Moderated, participatory sessions to map solutions
Fireside chats: Interactive discussions on burning subject matter
Speeches: Classic presentations
Play sessions: Learning-led quizzes, games and imaginative experiences
Masterclasses: Active teaching from a specialist area
Performances: Art, voice, music and multi-sensorial sessions
Please provide a guide on the format you would like you talk to take, within your submission form. We may be in touch if you love your idea, but would like to reformat to an alternative slot.
You may also have an idea which doesn’t typically fit on a stage. Whilst we have limits within Conway Hall, we’d love to hear any burning activational solutions that we could help you bring to life.
UN//SEEN Potential
Never stepped on a stage before? Early on in your public speaking career? If you’re a new voice and you want to be heard, this is a safe space to speak. We won’t throw you in at the deep-end - you get a short 5 minute speaking slot, or sharing circle and other new speakers to team up with.
This is for you if: you’re still quite new (or brand new) to public speaking, and you have an opinion or an idea for the ad industry (note: as with all the submissions we welcome proposals from people across diverse demographics, including age - you don’t have to be a young person for this slot)
UN//SOLVED Problems
Do you think the big problems in our industry are overlooked? This slot tackles challenges that feel too complex, too systemic, too risky to fix alone. Propose or explore ways we can all do better together, and how we get started now.
This is for you if: you want to lead on, or contribute to solutions for things that need fixing in this industry
UN//SPOKEN Possibilities
Got an idea you think can change the world? Want to innovate upon innovations?
Inspire the audience - reinvent the ways we work, redefine what success looks like, remake the universe of advertising!
This is for you if: you want to inspire new ways of being for this industry
UN//APOLOGETIC Perspectives
Do you have an inspirational story about succeeding against the odds? Have you been part of a paradigm shift, or a change of state in some small or big way?
This is for you if: You have impactful stories to tell about changing your own perspectives, or the perspectives of people around you
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
We will review the submissions as a committee in accordance with the festivals’ principles (see above). We may be in touch to suggest a different format for your submission, potentially as part of another track. Please rest assured, this won’t be done without the prior permission of anyone involved.
See Terms & Conditions.
